Default Window tint cost at Lexus Dealer on my leased car

Iam just wondering because summer is coming and Iam planning to get my IS350 tinted and I have a leased car. Iam thinking maybe its cheaper that way if i bring it to the Lexus dealership. Any suggestions? Thank you in advance

cheaper my ***.

They don't call it the stealership for nothing.

They sub out the tint job anyway, and they take a cut, so you end up paying more.

$125 tint jobs are plenty in cali.

I agree. Shop around and you can find a good tint job for less money at an indy shop. It might even be one that the dealership contracts out to.

Main thing is to check the tinting-percentage laws in your state....I'd also check the laws in some adjacent states, just in case you sometimes drive in them. Police often carry a light-reflecting meter with them, and can write a citation for having the tint too dark.

Totally agree. The sub it out. I would of paid extra for my new car if it was done in house

It's around 400-600 from the dealership here in Vegas, and indy shop charges anywhere from 99-299.

When is comes to tint, a good reputable tint shop is light years better than a car dealership that may have in house tinting. The majority of dealers will just drive the car to the nearest tint shop anyway, then charge you a little more than what the tint shops charged them. Tinting is a learned skill, and tint shops that do it all day get really good at it.

I've had 20% black on my previous two cars. That's the same % tint that's on the back glass of SUV's. I've found cops in my state don't hassle me for that, but you're just asking for it if you have that 5% limo tint or mirror tint on your car.

Really I don't like anything darker than 20% because its hard to see out of at night.

I remember when I was a kid, my mom was adamant about getting tint from the dealership (Toyota) and the sales guy was trying to advise her on the down low that she should seriously consider getting tint from a tint shop. Now I was about 10 years old and more interested in the bouncy house the dealership had set up in the front of the parking lot....

Of course she didn't listen and I don't even know what she paid for it, but now I always take her car to the awesome tint shop 2 miles from her house and tell her that I got it done at the dealership. Tint is bomb, good quality, and probably the shop that the dealership sources out to anyway. What the little old lady doesn't know won't hurt her

Glad to see we have some posters here with actual experience with window tinting. Agreed dealership is best avoided for this service.

Brandnewme - Did you find a good shop for your tint job?

Yes, that's a good point. It's probably not that big a deal in well-lit cities and urban areas at night, but can make a real difference in dark rural areas.
