New BMW model designations

The last-generation 335i (yes, the one with the fuel-pump issues), was my favorite Bimmer, hands-down, especially the AWD xi model. I personally thought that, for most street driving, it was a better deal than the M3, offering almost as much performance (and actually slightly more torque), at a substantially lower price, though the M3 was obviously better on a track with its much stiffer underpinnings.

The 2015 BMW 3 Series Sedan and Touring feature sharper design and sportier front and rear views. Designer have given the headlights a redesign with optional full-LED lighting while the LED taillights are sharper and more dynamic. The rear end also gets more sculpted and clearly defined lines.
As with all BMWs at around the three year mark, it’s time for the F30 3 Series to get BMW’s LCI (Life Cycle Impulse) treatment.
The F30 is going to be getting its LCI treatment this year and should solve some of the problems that many people had with the current model.

The 340i will be the first BMW to use the six-cylinder engine from the EfficientDynamics engine family. Replacing the outgoing 3.0 liter turbocharged six in the 335i, the 340i’s six will produce 326 hp and 332 lb-ft of torque and achieve 7.7-6.5 liters per 100km (30 mpg US). The new, all-aluminum six-cylinder engine will be both powerful and efficient, more so than the outgoing six. This new I6 engine has some mighty shoes to fill, as the outgoing six is beloved by enthusiasts everywhere for its silky-smooth power delivery, excellent powerband and lovely noise. BMW knows a thing or two about straight-six engines, so i’m assuming this new one should be just as good, if not better, than the outgoing engine.
The interior design of the new BMW 340i Sedan. BMW has worked on the, already excellent, ergonomics of the center stack and seat adjusters. Chrome accents have now been fitted to most of the controls, including center stack buttons, seat adjusters and window controls. There is a sliding door to cover the cupholders, when not in use, there is also a new practical storage are just ahead of them.

the germans are in an awesome slugfest. come on audi, you need to upgrade yours now.

As to the facelift... it is all right... interior is nicer, but still that area around the shifter is pretty cheap and not up to par with other rivals like C class.

0-60 in 4.8 sec is impressive compared to the current IS at 5.6 seconds.
Really tempted to go to BMW but just hesitant after my co-worker had a $12k shop bill on his 550 because oil from the turbos was leaking everywhere.
