Go From 2006 IS 250 to 2012 Audi A6?

Nope. You made the same error and assumption the previous poster did. In general, German-branded vehicles, especially in the electronics field, aren't as reliable as those of Japanese-brands. But there are enough exceptions that a blanket statement, (much less a +1) is inaccurate.

Yeah but some Japanese luxury cars ain't that great either and German cars have improved. The blanket "all Japanese reliable all German are not" no longer holds true. The latest initial quality report had Acura and Infiniti way below average. Audi seems to move up and down and hasn't been as consistent as BMW/Benz.
Still though I would make the jump from an IS 250 to an A6.

Great Input From All - Much Appreciated
Other notes:
How much better can the Audi AWD or Subaru system be then the Lexus?
My IS250 AWD was awesome last year in Chicago's 3rd worst winter. We have an abnormal amount of ice and snow. I had the chance to buy winter tires and passed because of the recommended operating temperature of like below 45* F. I drive too much on the highway and assumed the operating temperature would cause them to wear out super fast. I used Potenza all-season tires which were fantastic. I bought the step below the super expensive OEM RE $270 each tire.
Has anyone bought a CPO car then extended the warranty early (say at year 1 instead of year 3) to avoid the high price of a late extension on a car still under warranty?
I know the Audi CPO Warranty has a deductible (per repair) . I believe Lexus is the only luxury car brand that does not have a CPO warranty deductible. I went CPO on the IS because I was only finding a $1,000 premium over non-CPO IS models and it was my first expensive car.
The 2014 is not as big as advertised. I think it has to do with torso types & the metrics used. I sat in it already and eliminated it from my list.
I did the 2014 IS test drive program at the United Center in Chicago. It was an amazing experience. I checked out the 2014 IS, cool car, but been there done that. Did not know about the folding seat in the new IS. The wifes criteria typically are white color, Bose system, vanity mirrors, heated seats, and folding seats.

I did read consumer reports. They initially expected the new 2012 Audi A6 3.0T to have "poor" reliability. I have not read enough negative yet. I assumed it would likely be due to the new generation of MMI. Then again I drive an IS and test drove a C350 and they are definitely better overall (reliability, packaging, price, looks, maintenance cost, residual value) than the 335i I test drove. Good luck finding a magazine that doesn't say the 3 series BMW is the best car still.

Where have you been the past 1 year when the 2014 IS350 was kicking BMW 3 series butt up and down the road??

And these are major publications, not some obscure startup.
