While I am nowhere near the snow I did have this happen before and it pissed me off. A huge chunk of ice/snow flew off the top of a truck and I had to swerve to avoid it. I've even heard of hit hitting windows and hurting people.
Living in Georgia it is rare for ice and I think it does not cross our mind to clear ice off a large vehicle. I have recently noticed the brake lights due to flying ice with our last 2 ice storms and am staying far behind when the traffic speeds up.

Don't worry--snow is not rare in in PA, and boneheads here don't do it either. Mounds of snow on the roof, snow covering headlights and brake lights, and driving around in heavy snow with poor visibility with no lights on (gee--I can manually control AUTO headlights??).
