Default 2014 Cadillac CTS Vsport: Boosting Ahead of the Germans

Another great review by Carlos Lago and MotorTrend.

Absolutely CRAZY #s.
0-60 in 4.4sec
1/4 mile in 12.8 sec
60-0 Braking in 98ft

Not sure about the styling esp the rear, and the interior has the stupid CUE and touch screen.
Can't imagine how good the CTS-V will be.

I'm usually all for V8's but in this instance it works well with a TT V6 setup on a vehicle of this caliber. MBZ is following soon with the E550.

I really wish Lexus would make their F-Sport GS trim a 400hp one like Cadillac does with VSport, and have F be your full fledged performance model

One of the advantages of using a FI power plant is that the engine can just be tuned to different trim levels. Of course, the CTS VSport does start at 60k...

Wow! I thought it looked very oddly proportioned from some other photos, but it looks fantastic in the youtube preview image that pops up!

No wonder Lexus finally admits turbos are coming….this is not a small trend it seems but might be the normal way of things… Kudos to Caddy and GM who knows a thing or two about boost!

it's the only way to achieve high (wide torque band) power with efficiency (when not hoofing it) without going really exotic or electric with related challenges.

well done cadillac!!!!!

More gears (and closer-ratios) in the transmission is another way......allowing more performance-oriented shorter gears combined with taller cruising gears for MPG. But some new transmissions, of course (especially the 8 and 9-speeds), are already approaching the maximum number of practical gears one can put into them, short of a infinite-ratio CVT.....and current CVTs are not durable enough for many high-powered engines.

1/4 mile seems kind of slow for 420 HP imo.

That seems quite respectable from a big lux car weighing over 2 tons loaded. Actually damn good. Right in the ballpark of similarly speced out euro models.

Wow this is impressive........and that's only the CTS V-sport model.

What more with the CTS-V full model.......

Cadillac, please officially launch your brand into the Philippine market
