Sporty Fast Reliable Used Suv/Cuv Under $35,000
Hello All. I Am looking for a fast sporty reliable (used) suv/cuv under $35,000. It will be used for me and my wife, possibly with an occasional couple going out to dinner. I presently have a 2003 saab 9-5 aero stage 3 tune. 300hp 300lbs torque

Since you like Saabs, maybe find a Saab 9-4x? I know they didn't make many of them, but they're based on the SRX, which has been doing pretty well.
If not, then as the others have said, RDX, CX-5, Ford Escape Titanium,
Used Audi Q5 (not sure how reliable you want, or how long you want to hang on to the car).

Which one out of the 3 porsche infiniti or the bmw would be better overall and have a lower cost of ownership? Would i have better choices if I up my budget to $40,000

I can't talk on the reliability of the Porsche but I'd generally stay away from a used Beamer, just from personal experience; they're great under warranty... The Infiniti I think would be the cheapest to own but the Porsche and BMW have more presence on the road.

Ownership costs of these SUVs mentioned are a lot higher than something like CX-5 or Subaru, even if nothing breaks... and if something breaks, it is again a lot more expensive to repair.

alfaromeo - do you want new or considering used too, or only used?

I know a couple original owners of the first generation Cayenne S and they have been very reliable. While they have been reliable, the maintenance costs are not cheap. My wife and I just bought and diesel version, but it's too early to speak to its reliability.
So I guess if you're looking to be under $35k and want something that won't break the bank to maintain, the Infiniti FX may be your best bet. You can pick up an FX45 in your price range or a newer FX37 - maybe an FX50, not sure what their pricing looks like though...

If you're looking at total ownership cost sail right on past the Cayenne. If you're looking for a sporty, fast SUV and you can deal with the aggressive looks then definitely look at the Infiniti FX50/FX37.
