It's kind of interesting regarding the pricing of Land Cruiser and Sequoia.
The Cadillac STS was also smaller than the DTS but was more expensive.
As far as i know, I think these are the only two examples in which the smaller model from the same lineup costs more than the similar "bigger” brother.

They are completely different vehicles. As PhilipMSPT said, the Sequoia is more of a family hauler/road vehicle. It was designed for carrying people in comfort. The LC is more rugged, it has a solid rear axle ( Sequoia has independent suspension ). It is better built than the Sequoia, after all it is more expensive. The LC200 is designed with off road abilities in mind. While it might not be made for hardcore rock crawler like a Jeep Wrangler for example, it is still designed for off road driving, and would make a very good expedition vehicle. The LC also has more off road gizmos ( It also sells more than the Sequoia world wide ). I was also told that the LC rides better than the Sequoia even though it has a solid rear axle.
Apples and oranges.

How about Land Rover? Isn't the LR4 much bigger than the RR Sport?
