was ready for a porsche today
ive been looking at porsches for a long long time
having driven my friends 911 (996) and panamera turbo, ive settled my heart on 911s ever more than before
always been a fan of porsches since i understood cars when i was a kid
from watching the GT car races around world to following the brand and drools after the 959 when it came out
ive been trying to work out a leasing deal for a cayman today and got to a price i was willing to accept
but at the end, my father asked me to wait a few years to drive a porsche since he thinks i should not be driving to work in one at my age...
at what age do you think is a suitable age to get started with a porsche?

I do not think its about the age. Its a fast sporty car, so young people can drive it, and its expensive, so old people can drive it haha. I think its more about if you can afford it. If you can truthfully pay for the porsche without stretching your budget, then by all means get it.

I think I have the Porsche bug too.
As mentioned, if you can comfortably afford the payments, insurance, maintenance, fuel, tires, etc. then it should have nothing to do with age. Buy whatever makes you happy that is within your budget.

don't think age matters... but being responsible (which comes with age) would help in owning one unless u have no financial concern.... but if u can be responsible then i would even get one at 18y.o.a..... can u imagine rocking a 911 at 18.... damn...

I am a relatively young P-car owner (mid-20s) and I got a lightly used Cayman last year. Only you can decide whether you are comfortable using it to commute. No matter how much or how little we care, some people can and will be judgmental of us. Usually it is only out of ignorance or lack of interest in cars.
Mine is also my daily driver, but I do want another (less "special") car to commute with. It is my personal preference; I am a little wary of potentially judgmental people at work (just in general; not specific people). I would like to cut down my Cayman commuting to about 2 days a week.
Evenings? Weekends? ROCK IT~!!!!!!!!

Doesn't matter IMO. Just like the other threads about how old should an LS owner/driver be? If ya have the $, buy what you likes, no limits.
I've been lusting after a Panamera being practical but the 911 does draw me. That won't come at the immediate future. I would take a wild shot that I will be 50+ before I'm going to consider it seriously. Ugh...hard to believe I'm creeping closer to that mid point.

Age does not matter, despite the common stereotypes of Porsche owners. My 1st one was purchased in late 30's, and being a later model air-cooled 911 was the most intense car that I've owned.

There is no bad time to own a Porsche. I would say it great at any age.......well maybe other than the 20 to 25 yr range. Those kids did nothing to earn it and will probably only destroy the car and hurt themselves in it

My thoughts exactly. The responsible part is hard to learn at a young age. There are some young people in age with a mature mindset, and the same goes the other way, too. But there is never an age requirement when purchasing a vehicle. Just look at Lindsay Lohan with her fast rides.

I voted older rather than younger. Being 24 myself, I don't think I'd want a car that expensive even I could pay for it simply because I feel like you would always be getting judged by people older than yourself.

Its funny I found this thread since yesterday I test drove a 2009 911 Turbo Cabrio with just 8,000 kms
Still working on the wife to let me pull the trigger but I just turned 40 and I am feeling the itch for my first Porsche. Here are a few pics
