Happy Birthday!
Here's the most beautiful Mercedes' ever, in my opinion. A masterpiece, a work of art. If I had the money...
I also have a soft spot for these. The W126 still looks good today. What a timeless design.

Nice post, Paul.
A number of early auto-pioneers/entrepaueurs can (arguably) claim, historically, to have either invented the automobile or contributed the most to its development, including the Duryea Brothers, Henry Ford, Ransom Olds, and, of course, Gottieb Daimler/Karl Benz. The Duryea Bros. were one of the first to actually design and run a "Horseless Carriage". Ransom Olds founded the oldest American auto-company. Henry Ford, of course, perfected the assembly-line and made the automobile affordable to the masses. Charles Rolls and Henry Royce were probably the earliest to design what was considered the "best" car, with money and quality being no object. And, of course, the OT, Daimler and Benz.....they founded what was definitely the oldest auto company in Europe, and, from the beginning, one that was built on vehicle quality, reliability, and safety. Like Rolls-Royce in England, Daimler (Mercedes) went on, for several decades, to build reliable, high-quality aircraft engines as well.

longevity is the name of the game. a century and a decade is a nice achievement that will continue for many years to come. its just a shame that some of the mb drivers around here dont have the same class when driving as the cars and brand exude.

Don't you think that was somewhat uncalled for on this topic.
