Spyshots: 2008 Bentley Havana Coupe
Bentley Havana: due in 2008
CAR Online today brings you an sneak preview of Bentley's new flagship coupe. Tipped to be called Havana, it's the ultimate in conspicuous consumption, with a price in excess of £200,000, a V8 engine serving up enough torque to make the earth spin backwards and the most sumptuous interior this side of a sultan's palace. The Havana is expected at spring 2007 Geneva motor show, with sales following in 2008.
It's another indication of Bentley's stunning transformation, from Brit also ran selling 2000 cars a year to a strong luxury player shifting five times that amount. For more on Bentley's strategy, read the interview with boss Franz-Josef Paefgen in the December issue of CAR Magazine.

Isn't this like a 2-door version of the Bentley Arnage that has been mentioned ? They will probably take the top off & make it the next Bentley Azure too ? Always love Bentley's

Yep. This car looks outstanding. However the Continental R/T/SC are still the pimp daddies of all Bentley Coupes IMO!! So freakin beautiful.

Bentleys just look so darned... well, old.
I suppose you could call the lines 'classic' but to me they just look old - the continental GT looks decent on the outside but the interior still has many design queues that scream (to me) 'the highest quality design and components... from 15 years ago'
The Arnage looks antique inside AND out. I look at the simplistic simple round headlight design and flat front end and think of an old economy car almost.
The Chrysler 300C in some ways seems to have imitated the overall stance and lines of a 4-door Bentley, too, which cheapens their look and to me means they should be looking for a way to put some visual distance between themselves and the exterior of a 25k dollar car.
Don't get me wrong - if I was unbelievably wealthy and already owned a Maybach 57, LS460, and was running out of ideas for a high end cruiser then I'd get one... but that'd be kinda like how I'll buy a shirt that I don't really love and won't wear that often, only because it's something unique that is unlike anything else in my closet.
