Thumbs up Thanks Lexus for listening and giving us a VDIM disable for 2007+

I guess they do read the forums and mag reviews. I think that its great they offer such an incredible tech like VDIM but did listen and now give us the option of turning it off. THey didn't take a long time to do it, after only one model year in the IS!

I would love to see the reviews re-done since it was a big dislike with the mags.

Definitely a good thing for the IS. The lack of a disable switch really did put a damper on the ride. Interestingly the entire dynamic of the car changes with VDIM off (it's not just the lack of nannies). I still don't *personally* like the streering feel or nose dive, but I think this will definitely make it more competitive in mags since they focus so much on "sport".

I thank Lexus for this addition, not because I wanted it, but because it was so darn annoying reading complaints from the whiny babies of the Auto Mags.

That's very true, and it should make for some interesting reading in future comparos.

exactly

It's not like everyone's going to start buying new ISs just to turn off the VDIM and drive around, but it's nice to have something that will shut them up.

Few can afford owning a dedicated sports car and luxury vehicle. Most will have to blend the two in a single vehicle. Ideally a person can own both a Vette and a Lexus making cars from BMW pointless. Lexus should have given a VDIM disable from the beginning.

And the price increase comes from this? Just kidding. I think Lexus is watching the reviews closely, and is giving the enthusiasts a big bone with this. Just like they noted their excellent crash safety results, with industry-wide rear being the weaker one, and now they're the world's first with the rear pre-crash systems.

I am sure reviewers will complain and say the switch isn't lighted or big enough, lmao

Help!

I have tried to find the VDIM switch in the car and cannot locate it. The dealership says that is not a consumer adjustable option. After I advised them that it is an '07 change...they are lost. I just picked the car up this afternoon and have not gotten into the manual yet.

Does anyone know where the switch is located?
