Exclamation AUDI RS4 Cabriolet vs Mercedes CLK63 AMG Cabrio

Autobild: Audi RS4 / Mercedes CLK 63

Power: 420hp/481hp
0-100km/h Acceleration: 4.9 s/4.7 s
Top speed: 250 km/h/250 km/h
Transmission: 6 speed manual/7 speed automatic
Price: 82,900 euro/92,974 euro

The CLK 63 AMG has more torque, precise automatic transmission, comfortable and sufficient place for four. With the Audi although with less horse power is more sportier. It's better for curves and acceleration, requires a fast hand when changing and is the most dynamic choice.

Which do you prefer?

tough choice...... i probably would go with the rs4, though i don't like how it looks in the cabriolet form. but the interior and the performance, i think i would choose the rs4. the exhaust is just too sexy

For some reason the CLK in convert form never really blew my skirt up - it looks goofy to me for some reason, especially the profile.

The coupe on the other hand is a different story entirely. I see a white CLK430 with the 18" AMG 5-spokes rolling around here occasionally and it still catches my eye, and I still say "wow that looks great" ...

The RS4 Cabrio looks fantastic but I still prefer the hardtop.

Bottom Line (for me): Given the horror stories I've read about the new 7-speed auto, I think this is a no brainer.

RS4, although the shifter location is Matrix/prev. gen Civic SI-esque.
Way better looking car, for an AMG the CLK63 cabrio is very bland. Both look tons better in hardtop form. You listening Audi? Make more coupes!

CLK63 for me. With these types of vehicles I would rather have an automatic and just cruise around in it. Has good looks and is much more classier. The RS4 seems to have lost some of its aggressiveness in the cabriolet version. Still looks good, but I would pass on it.

If performance was the main deciding factor I wouldnt even think of getting a convertible version of these cars (that also includes the M3 Convertible).
