Check out the mileage on this Merc!
This 1976 Mercedes 240D did over 4.6 million km in 28 years as a cab in Germany (first 5 years) and then in Greece!
I guess they do not build cars like these any more ...

Damn, those old diesel MBs were ALL THAT. I love watching '80s movies just to see them in all their original splendor.
Up through the late '80s, something like 75% of all MBs sold in USA were diesel. Until this year, that percentage had dropped to 0.
They should have stuck with their old plan...

I wonder how many times they rebuilt the engine and tranny?
I think if you really really wanted to and had the funds to back it up, you could make any car go that far.
