Does dropping tire pressure on a street tire really work for you? I was under the impression that it doesnt work on regular street tires? Anyways great job. Looking forward to my build everytime I go on to these boards.

From My past experience, Dropping tire pressure and doing a burnout on street tires does not make a big difference. Almost the opposite on the burnout. These tires are performing unexpectedly very well.

The is300 pan is deeper and is preferred for its extra capacity. I cannot speak about the pump being better as I have no data about that.

I drag race the car in "D3" so it will not shift to 4th gear as I have heard that the trans will not take it. I may just try and let it shift at lower power to see what happens.
so if you are staying in D3 with a 3.76 diff ratio, your top speed is around 120ish mph? have you tried to shift into 4th and get any more speed?

Im planning on running the oem open diff which would limit me to 108mph

this is one of the large draw backs of using the Honda AEM box and piggy backing the factory ECU, not being able to control the Rev Limiter and Shift points

I installed an Torsen LSD in the factory 4.27 rear end. In D3 I am going through the traps at around 7,800-8,000rpm and at 133-134traps. With the 6050 Aem box, I had my rev limiter set to 8,200rpm. I did this as I was bouncing off my previous 7,800 rev limiter. When you take the ignition control away from the stock Ecu, you do have full rev limit control. Just no control over shift points. The factory shift strategy works perfect for smaller turbo cars that produce allot of low end torque. I am likely going to run a different rear end soon. I want the car to stay within the Powerband. I have a few diffs laying around to try out.

I ran the car last night again. I removed the 4.27 rear gear and installed a 3.26 from a GS400. Fiddled with the launch rpm/boost and was able to run very consistent 10.7-10.8 the entire night. I was able to make 19 passes of which 15 were 10 second. FIrst few passes were test passes and getting out early. Ran the car pretty hard yesterday and in some cases back to back without even turning the car off. Car also completed the 5 hour round trip to and from the track.

Time slip

Still on the same all season stock tires? And are you still in 3rd gear at the end of the run? Very impressive!

Can't believe you are running those times on those crappy tires. Congrats. Well done!

With the 1.80 60ft it looks like theres more left in it, probably easily a 10.3-10.5 on a drag slick. You seem very modest about the build but I'm sure you are giggling like a little school girl inside with how simple the build is and yet so effective / fast. Not many people doing what you are doing, keep up the good work!

Any chance to post a write up or show us some pic on how to swap the Sc300 valve body into the aristo trans?

Here it is done on a MK3 supra

This is the IPT video for the same trans.

Or read through this thread.

And then in the picture link, shows which holes to drill, and the size, for the 1-2 shift, 3 and 4.

Great build and information, and those track numbers are amazing for having the car only on 3rd gear and the tire size you are using.

Just curious did your sc originally have 30 40LS tranny if so, when you changed to the A340LE do you have a diagram of the wiring you had to do to make it work well and shift smoothly?
