TX2K13 Build Thread (2 Week Challenge)
With TX2K13 2 weeks away and my motorcycle build delayed, I figured I might as well dump everything into building my IS300 for the upcoming events.
The part list for this build seems to grow everyday. The current list includes:
Block:
Wiseco 8.5:1 Compression Forged Pistons
Eagle ESP H-Beam Connecting Rods
ARP Rod Bolts
New Main, Rod, and Thrust Bearings
Head:
Shimless Buckets
BC 264 Stage 2 Cams
BC Valve Springs
ARP Head Studs
GE Head Gasket
Turbo:
Precision 6765 Compressor Housing
.84A/R Divided Back Housing
Rebuilt Internals by Comp Turbo
Billet Compressor Wheel
Journal Bearing Cartridge
Turbine
Transmission:
A650e
Valve Body Upgrade by JeffTsai
Custom 3rd Gear Sprag (Hopefully the new design arrives in time)
Machined Housing to Accept Extra Clutches
Fuel:
FiveoMotorsports "Black-Ops Series" 1400cc Injectors
PTFE Fuel Lines
Dual Walbro 340LPH In-Tank Fuel Pumps
Misc:
3.73 Rear LSD
AEM Engine Management System v1
LS9 Coil Packs
2.2mm Thick Twin-Scroll Tubular Manifold
HKS 60mm Wastgate
HKS SSQV IV Blow-Off Valve
Zeitronix Zt-3 plus Hacker Tweaker Display
I am still debating on how I am going to slow this car down.

The Starting Platform:
Took approximately 3 hours to remove the motor and transmission from the car. Another 2 hours to get everything torn down.
Prepping the Block:
After boring and honing the block, it was time to make a few passes on the mill.
The finished product with a fresh deck, bore, and hone.
Drying the block after 30 minutes in the washer, still steaming.
Machining the Head:
The heads turn to be decked.
Fresh deck on the head.
Fresh from a bath.
Time to install the BC valve springs and shimless buckets.
Assembling the block:
The block was a bit rusty, so it received a fresh coat of paint.
Pistons and Rods lubed and assembled.
Short block nearing completion.
ABS Relocate:
This part is a pain in the A**.
Lines cut and mocked up for approximate positioning.
Dont mind the bald spot. It's not really there. (Dont burst my bubble.)
Half way completed. Just need to replace the fittings and mount the ABS unit.

Just about finished assembling the long block. Waiting on a new water pump to arrive.
Applied a light dusting of copper spray to the GE head gasket to ensure a good seal.
ARP head studs installed, ready to drop on the head.
Head bolted down. You can see the shimless buckets fairly well in this photo.
Average weight of a bucket and shim.
Aproximately 14g difference between each stock bucket and shim vs a shimless bucket.
Getting there.
BC 264 Cams. Double checked clearance and swapped a few buckets around.
Cam clearance done, time to check compression.
The proper technique to check compression outside the car.
Everything installed.

Motor and trans have been completed and dropped in. We had 2 customer cars come in this week and Jeff flew out to California to tune a car. It kinda threw a wrench in my build time frame. Being sent the wrong suspension parts did not help either.
The car is now sitting on Tein Flex coilovers, StopTech 4 piston front brakes, and Volk GT-V 18x8 front and 18x10 rear. The Nitto NT05's should be here tomorrow morning.
Then new turbo arrived today. Decided to change it up and go with an oil-less Comp CT43 6765. Now I have the fuel system and the computer wiring left to complete. Hopefully that leave me with enough time to get the car on the dyno and tuned before leaving Thursday afternoon.
I'll post more pictures when I get a chance.
