8052JZ's NA-T Build
#80
Here are a few things I got done:
-Few of you Na-ters might not know the gain of keeping the butterfly valve option in the NA intake manifold, assuming you’re running an EMS and the OEM intake manifold. By keeping this, you can gain at least 30% more torque at the bottom end if you have the AEM control it. This is a big plus if you’re trying to get every bit of power out of your NAT (like myself). So what I did was put the vacuum tank and Vacuum switch (VSV) back on the butterfly valve and set the settings in AEM to trigger the switch to open or close under 4300rpm.
Here is the thread that tells you a little more about this option. If you’re staying with an NA intake manifold and running an ems, I highly suggest you keep this option. Why not?

-Checked the turbo for leaks and all seems to be good
-Got the seat buckle light to work with the RSX seats I installed using another helpful thread. only thing i did different was use the OEM seat belt buckle, bolted it the RSX seat and used the clips from the OEM seat harness and attaching them to the body harness without really hurting the harness.

-Door panels all cleaned up and back on the car. Also drilled out drilled more holes for more sound to come through and re-skinned the speaker grills. I’m still looking for a Mint set of door panels. As you can see mine have a few tears and cracks but nothing terrible, just annoying.

WOW no comments from the last update jee..... lol Anyway, the INTERIOR IS FINNALY DONE!!
In favor of this thread ( https://www.clublexus.com/forums/gs-...r-armrest.html ) for the GS, here is a nice little DIY for those of you that have a really nasty looking arm rest that needs to be replaced. Overall cost of everything was about $65 including a matching ebrake boot. Over all time it took was about 30min.
Things you’ll need:
-New genuine leather of coarse (also purchased a ebrake boot to match EBAY STORE )
-Philips Screw driver
-Spray on upholstery adhesive (I used "3m 90 High strength" spray on adhesive from Home depot)
-Poly-fil Extra loft batting (Mikael’s, Kmart, Homedepot etc.)
-A few clamps to hold the leather while the glue dries
This is how its done:
1.) Remove your armrest. There are 3 bolts on the bottom underneath the padding that is there and 2 skews up top under hidden button things.
2.) Flip over the armrest and you will see 17 screws. All of those will need to be removed and ones done so you will have the armrest in two parts.
3.) Now simply start to peel back the hold leather until its off.
4.) Cut out the poly-fil enough so that it will cover the entire armrest than spray on the adhesive and stick the batting on the armrest ensuring no humps after its on. Than cut away the accesses of the poly fill.
5.) Cut another piece of poly-fil for just the top section of the armrest and glue that on. This will give the top of the armrest a nice and more even cushion when the leather is put on. Be sure to let the adhesive fully dry before putting the leather on.
6.) Now put the leather on and stretch the leather so that you have no kinks and get a nice even finish on top. At this point an iron or steamer will help with this process.
7.) Apply the adhesive to the inside of the armrest along with the edges of the plastic part. Don’t be shy as to how much glue you put on. More the better but wait for the glue to get tacky. This will help keep the leather stay on.
8.) Once the glue is tacky start stretching the leather over the edges making sure you get all the kinks out of the leather for a nice finish. Clamps can help with this process so that the comers stay down while the glue drys.
9.) Repeat until all of the leather is glued to the plastic part and at the same time making sure the leather is stretched enough so that it’s even all around.
10.) Once you’re satisfied of how it came out, ensure that the glue is completely dry and all of the leather is glued down. If not apply glue and clamp that area.
11.) Reinstall the armrest in reverse order. Than sit back and look at your sweet smelling new leather
And there a few shots of the interior.. better ones will be taken during the day with a pro camera not and iphone5
