Cool read. You remind me of myself a little bit. I'm excited to see how your-custom mesh upper and lower grilles and headlights turn out.

I'm definitely big on symmetry and am borderline OCD (e.g. buying new parts to replace perfectly good existing ones simply because they have a minor scratch only I notice). I nearly drove my stereo installer insane going back and forth on how to do my trunk setup because it had to be exactly symmetrical and doing custom mirror boxes from scratch is apparently a huge pain.

Below is what I ended up with, might give you some ideas. The box vents directly into the cabin through the port where the stock woofer was (it was removed). The amp was mounted in the center ski pass. This way I don't have to leave the ski pass open and everything can be covered up.

So much win in those pics. My idea was to do a box in the center of the trunk closest to the rear seat w/ the port coming through the ski pass, 1 psi 10" sub suspended from the top of the box so that the spiders/coils can be seen through the ski pass, mirrors on the inside of the box w/ one white led on the bottom left corner of the sub box and another on the bottom right side both facing the sub tied to the footwell LED's w/ manual override to turn off/on (relay) as I see fit.

Sounds like a good plan! I like how your mind works.

Where in FL are you? I'd love to get that rear view camera switched mod done to my IS. I just recently blacked out my grille, rear trunk L, license plate and exhaust.

Question, now that my wife owns the car she is changing up the exterior. (more like getting me to change up the exterior for her) She wants chrome exterior side mirrors so that they will essentially tie into the chrome exterior trim around the windshield. She got the idea from the audi s5.... Opinions?

EXAMPLE PIC BELOW. Please look only at the side mirrors not the badass car as a whole.

i think it wont look good on our car because our side mirrors are pretty big unless you do it kinda like the audi and only do the top half
