Cant wait!
I think I am going with 22ple HPC for the ease of application.
I keep going over all my exact steps so let me know if I am missing something. I will be doing this in a garage in November, temps should be in the 60's, the curing time thus would most likely be a little longer, I am assuming 10 min?
I am also using what I have without buying a machine polisher and a foam cannon. I want to wait till I have my own actual house to do that haha.
This would be my first time putting this coat on FYI.
Up to this point:
Washing and waxing
carpro reload
Chemical Guys Jet seal
Those are the stuff that have been on my car
Dirty car 2016 lexus rx 350, got it in June:
- 2 Bucket method
- Wash every nook and crannie of the vehicle with dish wash soap
- I mean REALLY wash every bit bottom and top every panel take my time washing and rinsing
- Iron X the whole car, use the whole bottle on the RX
- Wash car again, lots of dish wash soap, use this soap as LUBE
- Nano scrub car, especially the parts where the pink iron x was showing the most, usually the top parts of the car where things can "fall"
- Wash car again
- Ultimate Polish trunk, side panels (make sure to really buff in the polish) (also.. do I need to do this step if no visible scratches are noted? Also, there is that "clear coat" that self healing layer from the manufacture)
- Wash car again
Clean car:
- Bring car in garage
- IPA wipe down, whole car
- Make sure car is completely dry
- Carpro foam applicator and suede cloth
- 22ple HPC
- apply few drops to cloth
- go from left to right, top to bottom in small sections at first
- wait 10 min for it to dry
- 1 microfiber cloth to wipe off excess
- 1 microfiber cloth to buff
- do whole car
wait 12-24 hours
- do a second coat
- wait 12 hours
- apply carpro reload spray
Good to go!
Let me know if this set up is good. I do not know how to paint correct, there are no scratches on the car so far
