Sonax is acid based, and can damage the paint on the rims.
The best wheel cleaner I've tried so far (I do detailing on a hobby basis) is the scholl Rim7.
It get's rid of all the dirt, you can dilute it with water so it lasts longer, and it is not acid based and therefor gentle to the wheels.
I haven't tried the mothers.
I've also tried several other brands and the p21s does about the same job as the Rim7.
Stay away from acid based solutions like meguairs, iron-x and others. They are not ment for "daily" use.

you should read the bottle... it states that it should not be used on aftermarket or polished wheels. i bought 2 bottles and read it after i got home, i gave them to my brother. i use either Sonax or the Eagle 1 wheel and tire cleaner, regular and the new enviroshine. they both work very well. so when i run out of sonax i use this...

Several popular and safe cleaners are P21S Wheel Cleaner, Autoglym Acid-Free Wheel Cleaner, Sonax Full Effect, Griots' Garage HD Wheel Cleaner.

I am surprised everybody is suggesting all these wheel cleaners here. If it's a new car, the best thing you can do is wash the wheels right now with a good wheel cleaner like P21S or Sonax, seal them up with a wax, sealant, or coating of your choice (Collinite 845, Menzerna Powerlock, Opti Coat 2.0 are a good choice), than use regular wash soap that you use on the car to maintain the wheels.
There is no need at all to always use a wheel cleaner every time you go to wash the wheels, especially on a Lexus which do not typically have brake dust issues. Using a mild car soap prolong the life of the sealant and save you money because wheel cleaners are not cheap.
