Default Removing Scratches From Console Shifter

I have a 2008 ES 350 the black plastic area around the base of the console shifter has fine scratches in it. I was wondering if using Meguiars PlastX Clear Plastic Cleaner & Polish with a foam applicator would be safe to use to remove these fine scratches. If not, are there better alternatives? This area seems to scratch very easily because even when dusting with a microfiber towel, more scratches seem to appear.

plastx or any other very gentle plastic polish should be just fine. just be careful not to get it into the gate as i can tell you that to clean it, you'll have to disassemble a LOT.

I would use an ultra fine polish like the Meguiar's PlastX Clear Plastic Cleaner and Polish. Take a clean cloth or applicator and buff it on with light to medium pressure and then buff off the excess residue with a clean microfiber towel.

Thanks for the help. I think I will try the Meguiars PlastX Polish and see if that removes most of the scratches.
