I'm totally bummed about my paint

Free with a loaner car, but I identified the problem the morning after taking delivery (it was a evening delivery). They left bird poo poo on the hood for days on the lot in hot weather. Mine is a clear-coated SGM color.

Definitely Bird Acid, It will be tough to fix.
Try buffing it out with a mild abrasive compound and a rotary polisher (if not have it professionally detailed). Most will give you an evaluation.
If that won't work, you might need to colorsand the area and have it blended or repaint it.
Hope this helps.

Some good news
I have a IS250 AWD. I had some these spider web problems with my paint on the hood. I initially took it to lexus and told them about it, they told me it was just salt accumulating from winter and it just needed to be polished off. Took it to a detailer and they couldn't get it off. So I took it to a local paint shop and they said it was something wrong with the base coat not bonding with the paint right. I brought it back to Lexus and told them this and they wanted something in writing. I got that in writing and Lexus scheduled a meeting with the regional rep and finally they are taking care of it under warranty!
I got it back today and it's in perfect shape!

I too have etchings on my hood
I want my hood redone too!
Here is my experience-
When I bought my CPO LS right before Christmas, I took delivery the same day. (When I took a test drive, there was a fine layer of dust on the car) I found a scrape on the passanger side dog leg. The salesman said he would take care of it as it was not up to lexus CPO standards. While I was finishing up the paperwork, they gave it a wash.
When it was ready, they brought me into a large delivery room, where other people were picking up their cars and were being shown the features of their cars.
I noticed the hood had a couple of these etchings. I alerted the salesman, who said "oh you're at it again?" and he supposedly went back to the sales manager to explain yet another issue I had found. The salesman said "he's said he's not going to paint the trunk". I don't know why I did not let him have it, because I am usually good at doing so. I guess my excitement of getting this gorgeous LS blinded me.
Now after stewing for a few days, I am going to go back to the dealer to request that this get resolved. If the scratch on the back dog leg is not up to standards, then OBVIOUSLY failing paint is not either. It's probably only going to get worse, and I sure am not going to be stuck with a repaint bill. It should be taken care of by Lexus for sure. I can't believe I let this guy walk on me. So unlike me. Talk about being blinded by the light!
