Default I'm totally bummed about my paint

So I have my car washed after about a week of rain we had here in San Diego and I noticed some spider web cracks on my trunk. It looks like its in the paint. I have no idea how this happened. I've babied this car and the paint.

Anyone know how to fix this or am I totally screwed?

So repainting is the only way to fix it? Will they have to repaint the whole front bumper? Or just touch up that spot?

Try getting it polished and detailed. That might do the trick.

well, to get the paint to blend well, the whole bumper is getting painted
BUT, have you gone to your service department and asked them to check it out
my bumper was painted once before, so the paint wasn't done by lexus service
and when i went to them, they said if it was done by them they might have covered it since it's a paint problem
you might wanna go check that out

Yeah dude, I didn't wash my car for about a week since it was raining. I park my car in a car port.

Crazy how that happened on the trunk of my car when the hood is perfect.

What is that, a stain or something?

I think it was bird poop. But it is a spider web-like cracks in the paint. You can't chip the paint off with your fingernail. I've never seen anything like it... I was wonder if anyone here has.

Try some rubbing compound. Go to autozone and buy both the Green label and Red label compound.

Use the red, then the green paste. Its worth a shot.

Nope i don't think rubbing compound is the way to go. i've had this problem before on an old Porsche and a detailer was able to fix it with something similar to swirl-remover. I remember that it was a damaged clear-coat, if addressed before damaging the underlying base paints then no repaint is needed

Sorry though, I don’t know what he exactly did… a professional detailer will know what to do

See my thread in the Detailing section about Bird Poo Poo, I have a stain on my CPO car's hood, that was discovered the morning after delivery (car was delivered at night). Dealer detail shop could not remove all of it, body shop manager will look at it in early January.

btw, what color is your paint?

The car is obsidian black. Sorry about the photo quality. I took the pics with my blackberry.
