Default IS250 owner thinking of GS

Hello everyone..

I currently have an 08 IS250 - Starfire White.....I recently got rear-ended, nothing major, I was sitting at a red light, first in line, and got hit from behind. So since my car is in the shop, I have got to use a company car. By the way, I work for Toyota Motor Sales, so there are some benefits here I am driving a GS350 until my car is fixed, and I have had it for 2 days, and cannot get enough of it.

How would you compare the two besides the obvious of engine hp and room? What do you really like better or best of this GS vehicle?

What is your avg gas mileage? I do a lot of highway driving. I get around 26-27 in the city, and about 33 on the highway in the IS.

Any other information on why you would switch would be very helpful!

Thanks everyone.
JM

Just about everything is better on a GS than a IS250 except for gas mileage. I average about 21 doing 50/50%. RWD should add another 2 MPG. The GS's interior is much nicer than the IS IMO.

That is not too bad for gas mileage for that big of a vehicle, and 100 more horsepower.
I have only driven this GS for two days, and its just totally different. I love my IS, don't get me wrong...it is a fun car. But there is just something different about this GS. The one I am driving is black, with black leather and the cherry color wood trim. The leather seats feel a lot different in the GS compared to IS.

The seats are more comfortable in the GS, the wood is nicer and even the plastic is nicer The GS actually have very good gas mileage compare to similar cars in the same class. The main difference for me is the luxurious interior, its simply a step above the IS.

I have an IS & GS..

I think the ride comfort is much nicer in the GS, not sacrifice handling to achieve this. The build quality in the GS feels superior to the IS, the GS in more of a keeper.

Taken that all into consideration, the IS is more fun to drive (350), it’s is more than fast enough for me. The front seats are more comfortable in the IS. And the car is easier to Modify.

DaSyce....

Alright you confused me The first few lines was all GS, much better, but then you through me for a loop with the IS being more fun to drive.
The Lexus mechanic at work is most likely buying my IS, so I originally thought I would go to a 6 speed manual transmission......however, I saw the gas mileage of 18/26.....and then I have driven this GS for a couple of days now and its heaven The gas mileage supposedly is 21/29 in it, so even better than th 6 speed manual IS, and it has 100 more HP!!!!
Thankfully I have the GS through Monday...and am actually going to see my parents which is about a 250 mile drive, so I will get more time in it......its a tough call. I really like my IS a lot.....but there is something about this GS that is making me heavily considering going w/ it instead of a 6 speed manual IS.

The IS does handle better than the GS, but thats not to say the GS is not fun to drive. If handling is your top priority, then I would stay away from Lexus altogether. If you are looking for a car that is luxurious and sporty, then the GS is it. BTW, the GS is a great highway cruiser.

In my case 75% city / 25% highway driving; even with leaded foot, I still average between 22~24 MPG combined. But with wifey in the vehicle, my average would go upto 24~26 MPG...

You must have plutonium instead of lead in your foot!!!
