Default I saw the new GS in person today

Well, I saw the new GS today. I was at my local Lexus dealer, and there was a Lexus rep there that was driving from dealer to dealer to show it off to the sales people.

Unfortunately, for me personally- this is going to be one of those designs that will have to grow on me. My first impression, was that it looked like a cross between an Audi and a Camry. The back of the car was nothing spectacular or stunning in any way. The front was above average. The side view, I must admit, looked awesome. Reminded me of the new large size BMW's.

I fully intended to take some pics of the car for you guys with my digital camera phone, but was so let down, that I forgot.

I'm sure that the interior toys, such as bluetooth, etc. are pretty cool- and who knows, I may even end up buying the thing in 5 years after the design has grown on me. For now, however, I'm pleased as ever with the stunning design of my second gen GS400.

I also got to sit in them today, for you Chicago people, Bredeman Lexus in Glenview has a GS300AWD and GS430 sitting on their lot right now for a GS party night tomorrow.

GS300AWD had a huge hump in the driver's footwell. I don't know if that's been mentioned before... but it really threw me off. I don't think I could get used to that at all.

Other than that, the interiors looked top notch. I wish you could extend the lower part of the seat cushion as in the LS430 though... i mean even the new Avalon will have this feature.

GS300AWD fully loaded looks to run just over 50.

GS430 fully loaded runs about 58 from what I saw.

Salesman said they'll have one of each in at the end of the month for test drives.

Really wish Lexus would put a manual tranny in these things.

Didn't have my digi cam with me. sorry.

The sticker wasn't on the car. but that was the price the salesman told me. Also the prices on the inbound cars, which all have AWD and NAV were in upper 40's and very low 50's. There could very well be other options. But the one i saw had the smart key, nav/lev, sunroof, etc.

Default Pricing ( in the East )vs. Texarkana

A Nav/Lev GS300 RWD would sticker for $49,699 here in the East if they only made them that way. Here if you have RWD you can't get Nav/Lev unless you special order. I guess we could import them from Akbergq's dealer in Texas. Let's see if I talk to them nicely for 5 or 6 months I should be able to get them for $5,000 off like him. What's the name of that dealership again????? The GM there must be out of town so I'll just have to wait until he's back at the helm.............
