When I traded my Rx for my IS this month, I was refunded the full extended warranty, prepaid maintenance, and car care package warranty I had purchased with my Rx.
I purchased these packages from the dealer when i bought my Rx. Not sure how external warranty vendors operate though.

At Servco Lexus in hawaii if you have purchased the extended warranty and you haven't used it. You have 90 days from the day the warranty has expired to call Lexus and let them know that you haven't used the warranty and they will Refund the full amount that you paid for the warranty back to you.

I purchased the Platinum Extended Warranty in 10/2009. Is good until 10/2013. Used once to cover the passenger side window problem. Will I get a refund for the unused time? And if so, by check? Pro-rated?

Yes, I believe you will get a pro-rated refund for the unused portion of the warranty. If you bought a 2 year warranty and wanted to cancel it after 1 year, you should get half the original cost of the warranty back. This is what I was told by Lexus Finance when I bought my car and warranty. Someone else with personal experience can chime in.

Refund of warranty payment after 100K if you had no repairs - depends on your contract. They sometimes sell extended warranties that you get back 100% of your money if you have no repairs between 50K and 100K miles. They just ended this program on 10/1/2011 so if you buy an extended warranty today you get nothing back at 100K...

Take a close look at the terms of your extended warranty and that should clear things up. There's a lot of different warranties out there, some will refund your money if you don't use it, others won't. Easiest way to confirm is to read the documentation you should have got about your extended warranty. Or call the dealership where the car was purchased for a definite answer.

i got a warranty on my 06 gs300 for 2800. had to repair both mirrors and a bad rattle in the rear windshield. i put 15k miles on the car. i traded in in for my is350 and they gave me 2000 back and i paid 2800 for it. i think you get money back as long as you are not over the limit of miles and years. they give you the % you didnt use.

Ok let me clarify for everyone. I am a Finance Director for a very large Toyota dealership. The only way it is 100% money back is if the dealership you purchased your car from has a company they use to guarantee the warranty. It is a 3rd party product that typically costs any where from $150-300 that the dealer either builds in to the sell price or they eat in the profit. You will have another form in your paper work that must be signed by you. The kicker is on the contract you sign it clearly states you must return to the selling dealer in a certain amount of time after the warranty expires. Ex 30 days. Then the dealer files a claim with that 3rd party and you receive the money back within 4-6 weeks. Lexus and Toyota warranties do not have the money back if not used component built in. Like i said earlier it is a 3rd party product they sell or throw in as an addition
