I have H&R springs with stock shocks going on about 20,000 miles since installation and no problems or leaks from the shocks whatsoever. Alignment was done at a local shop and was brought within specs. Handling is okay, I'm sure with aftermarket shocks it would be better. Kinda wish I had the shocks changed at the same time the springs went in to avoid taking the same things apart twice.
had them with Bilsteins and 20s. Alignment was tough to nail down. I believe the rears were right at the tolenance. With the stock 17s there was no problem with alignment.
i am using stock shocks for now with 20's and all is fine. just do the new shocks if you can at all, but i didn't really know then and am doing other major things currently anyhow. but if you can, get shocks
Instead of doing an L-tuned suspension mod, does anyone have experience with the H&R springs and Bilstein shock upgrade? I have heard it is better, plus you get a lower drop with the H&R springs - 1.5 inches as opposed to 1 inch with the L-tuned mod.
Let me know your thoughts on this mod compared to the L-tuned mod. I am leaning towards this mod instead. Please keep in mind that I have not done any wheel/tire mods yet. Stock 17 inch rims are still on the car.
I was always under the impression that the rears were a bit lower than the fronts. Dunno if that's due to the amps and sub in the trunk...But after looking at my old pics, it looks like the gaps about the same. Here's a pic when I had the stock 17s and HRs.
