Default NA-T 2JZ-GE GS300s, anyone running meth?

If so, what mods and boost are you running? I'm all stock besides XS turbo kit and AEM FIC. I want to run 10 pounds because thats my wastegate minimum and have a chance to pick up a meth kit locally for cheap so I would much rather run more boost then have to remove the turbo and manifold again to get to the wastegate

run 50/50 water meth, aka windshield waster fluid. lol. it will let you run much higher boost safely. the water will cool the intake temps and help prevent detonation, and the meth will add fuel so you can go higher than 10psi if you want.

Windshield washer fluid is max 15% methanol, it would be better if you bought a 5 gal jug of methanol & mixed it to 50% with distilled water, this way you know whats going into the engine.

Good Luck

dont you still need to swap out the HG and injectors if you run more than 9psi even with meth?

From what I hear it should be able to run about 12-14 psi safely without a HG. Whats the most people are safely running without head gasket or meth?

My car seems to be running out of stock at about 7-8 psi. Is that normal? What HP should I expect at 8 psi?

Thanks

i have always been told that 9psi is the absolute MAX for stock fuel and HG...and at 8-9 psi..is about 280-300 whp

there are windshield washer fluids ut therethat are 50/50 mix. just gotta d your research. and i know alot of people having great success on them. the way you saidis the best way ut if you find a 50/50 and are just running low boost, aka under 28psi id say the windshield washer fluid is no problem.

the reason 8-9psi onstock HG is max is because of detonation and fuel, if you do water/meth you can stop the detonation and add fuel. on the stock fuel system of a GS i wouldnt go past 14psi on water meth but anything under that is no problem if you do a good tune!

Running alot of boost on a stock hg is going to lead to significant ring wear in a relatively short period of time. I'm not sure of the exact gap on stock rings but they obviously aren't for boost (cylinder temp/pressure).

party pooper here again , another downfall of NA-T once you realize that 10 PSI is week, you start looking for more ways to make more power and after you upgrade the head gasket and build a meth system hopping for that 15 PSI (keep in mind this is after you bolted on a couple of thousand dollars of turbo stuff) your all the way to where a GTE is with BPU.

you'll need to upgrade your trans if your gonna make more than 325rwtq daily...also you might just wanna spend the money and upgrade the fuel and hg now to save yourself from doing it later...the boost bug with strike again and then you'll want to push it to 14 psi and after that to 18psi its never ending...but i believe you'll be able to do 10psi on meth but i dont think it would be a smart choice if you do it for a long period of time...

not always true, ive done 2 na-t supras and spent under 3K on the entiire build and was well over 420WHP. and the average gte swap will cost you much more than 3K so when the block is the same, and stock GTE internals are cheap, why not spend the 3-4K on doing up a nice na-t and having it capable of much more than the stock twins would put out. ither way the gte swap or the na-t your going to put down enough power to break the trans! so id rather save the money and put the extra cash to the trans than to do a gte swap!
