Thumbs down 18 months later...this is what you can look forward to !!

Well I have had my GS300 since June 05, I drive it daily but a short commute, so it only has 11K miles. It is going in again for the infamous rattles....This time they are going to hate me

The drivers door has a squeak....it is right where your arm would go to rest it by the window, eventhough it is uncomfortable, i sometimes rest my arm there and just this week when you press on the plastic / hard rubber, it literally squeaks in and out....

The dash is a mess of rattles, right side is quite a bit worse, first there is a low volume buzz that is there with almost any imperfection on the road (right side), and then a squeak with moderate size bumps

The left side of the dash and center just has "buzz" sounding rattles with pot holes

It has been cold so the windshield tick is there too

You hit a big pothole and it sounds like thw whole thing is going to fall apart

I think the plastic base that we dont see on all the dash parts is just getting a bit dry and starting to separate from the frame they sit on and squeak with bumps....
On the much brighter side, mechanically it has been perfect though...I have never owned a mechanically troubled car so I dont know how frustrating warranty repairs are but at least a bad "whatever part" can be changed and you go on with your life, I suspect I will end up living with these rattles....

I can only imagine what you are going through. I only have the dash tick and it's driving me crazy. If I was in your situation, I would have bailed out a long time ago.

EyeKutr, time to switch to GS350, perhaps? Perfectly quiet in here @ 1.5k miles and when 35 deg in the morning. I know Robert had dash rattle "luck" even with his '07, but from other posts in here on the board it seems like in general '07 has been a big improvement w/rattles over the 1st year 3GS.

1.5K is to few miles; Both my 06 and 07 were quite for longer than that. My experience is that there was no improvement from 06 to 07.

After so many repeats at the dealer for the same thing doesn't the lemon law come into affect.. For that amount of money that car is there should be no rattles what so ever... period

I posted my "18 month" update, only because the first few thousand miles were quiet as a casket, in fact the car is still so quiet when in motion that you can hear every little squeak, squeal and buzz. I hope they changed some stuff for 07 because, it seems like the 07s are selling quite well and there may be quite a few people who are absolutely outrageous about the rattles this vehicle has exhibited at 12 - 18 months. ...I suspect they made some improvements, Only time will tell. I am not 100% convinced you would pick up an 07 if I got rid of my vehicle. I know for a fact Lexus makes Quality improvement type reports at the dealerships when they find a major flaw so it can be fixed. I showed them the drip line and I think my service advisor told me they had every one and their mother look at it, got some super service advisor to make notes to Lexus about it.....maybe there will be a fix for that this year.....Do 07s have a gas dip line ???

I sure hope '07 GS350 got fixed in terms of the rattles. But than, Robert's GS350 is an example of dash rattle problem I just hope its limited since I haven't seen too many other GS350 owners complaining about this problem. We probably have to wait until we get more miles on our '07 models. Although, I should probably be more realistic rather than optimistic, if I learn anything from Lexus buyback of my lemon ES350

Ok, I ask. What drip line are you referring to? So far my
GS350 is rock solid. No dask rattles or windshield ticks.

I might be a rolling test bed of sorts. I bet I put waaaaaay more miles on my GS than any of you guys out there. I bought my GS350 on the last day of Sept and since then I have put over 7k miles on it. My car was perfectly silent until it hit 5500 miles. The car went in twice for the tick/rattle TSIB and it still has it. In fact, I heard a little rattle on the left side the other day as well. I just got back from a 300 mile trip in my GL450 with the whole family and drove on some pretty rough city roads in LA. Total silence with no rattles. It amazes me that I have to put up with this crap. It's a great car and it had the potential to be THE perfect car but obviously I was wrong. This is my first and last Lexus PERIOD. On a positive note, I ran in to Jay Leno today and had a chance to say hello to him.

Sorry to hear about that! - You went from a major supporter of this car to never again pretty quick. Was it just about the dash rattle? If they managed to fix this would you change your mind?

I should add that I had a 99 GS300 for 8 years, the car was absolutely flawless! - This is what sold me on getting the GS350. - Hopefully, I won't be disapointed.

I had a dash rattle in my wife's 2003 ES300, as well as a door rattle. They fixed them both for me. Luckily the first time.

I'd keep on them till they quiet it down. If it was quiet before, they should be able to quiet it down.

Haha, when ya got a tomb silent car, you can hear every noise. I'm at 6k miles, I've got dash and roof rattles. For a highway cruising/light city driving, its turned me off lexus.
The roof rattle I have has been quasi fixed by a dealer before, it has to do with leading edge of sunroof, only when I expand the gap the glass slides in with my hand, does the noise disappear. At static, it's noisy open or closed.
