2004 LS430 Tailights: Will they fit the 2001 LS430?
I asked a Lexus tech this question last week and to my surprise, he said no! He told me the trunk was different... I found that hard to believe because the trunk looks exactly the same to me but he said he's willing to bet on it.
Anyone know for sure? Anyone try this conversion and how much do the lights go for?
Thanks.
a similar thread has been posted already. But he is right. The 2004 has smaller tail lights than the 01-03. The portion on the truck lid is smaller, more slanted.
The part on the trunk lid is not what 01-03 owners would want to replace. The clear corner turn signals are the big change in the 04' and the LED brake light bulbs, but I couldn't see trying to replace the trunk lid lenses just for LED bulbs.

im also trying to put 04 corner tail lights on my 03 too. please let me know. i also want to get the rear roof wing spoiler butcant find.
Neither parts of the tail lights on 2004+ would fit 2003-
umm..... i believe the taillights (04, the clear oenes) fit 01-03, just not the inners that are on the trunk. the wiring harness is a bit different as well coz' of leds
a member here did it before, JLAWS or something like that? i am bad with names
you can change them to 04+ but you need to change the trunk............. a friend of mine did it but is too expancive, i rather go with PVO idia to chang it to a clear red light much cheaper.....

no you don't need to, just need to change the outter lens, that's direct swap from the other post. only if you want to change the inner taillights you will need to get new trunk lid

I said based on my own experience. The OEM 2004+ are a bit smaller than those of 2003-. Unless you want to see a big gap between the lights, go for it. Tail lights are NOT interchangable on the 2003- and 2004+, period. Let alone the wiring harness as you mentioned. I have the OEM outter tail lights for 2004+ if anyone wants to buy.
Yes I was the one that got 2004 led taillights to fit a 2001 way back in early 2005. At the time clear strip tallights shown on the silver Ls pictured went for about $800 at the time No one wanted to take a risk. I bought them for $400 and got them to fit. They bolted right on. The white strip lined a little higher than the one on the trunk but the look makes sense being higher. Had they been lower than the inner trunk clear lense then it may not look right. The real pain was rewiring the lights so that the bulb failure message wouldn't pop up. I wrote up a step by step a while back. The new owner of the car, a friend, is happy with the look and doesn't think it worth switching to the lights for the ones now on Ebay for under $200.
so will any 3rg gen tail light fit any 3rd gen? Ex. 04 tail light to 05
11 year bump lol
Yes anything 04-06 will fit each other and 01-03 will fit between each year. For 01-03 you can get aftermarket LED tails, I have some on mine.

Are the LED tails from eBay? Seems to be the only pair I can find. Or maybe I'm just not looking in the right places.
