Default excessive steering wheel shaking after small bumps

for the past 2 months i've been noticing that my car vibrates/shakes a little more than it used to when i go over small bumps on the road(unintentionally of course) my steering wheel shakes more too. i had an alignment done and all four tires are brand new recently. can someone give me some insight on this. could it be i need new bushings? any ideas or thoughts would be much appreciated. thanks in advance.

edit: by the way it IS a first generation LS400

Personally I haven't had any problems, but it could be anything in the suspension area. You're sure the rims are not bent? Are the tire inflated enough? Is the tred still good on them? I have one cause that rings a bell to me...

It's something called Wheel Force Variation, this is usually due to uneven tread or sidewall stiffness in the tire. I would get the rims checked, then if that's not the problem, call the tire company and ask them if they will give you a new set of tires...if warranty isn't up. Even new tires can have uneven tread or sidewall stiffness.

As you said it could be a bushing...well it could be ANY steering and suspension component. It could be a number of things man is all I'm saying. So it does it after you hit a rock or bump? And no other time?

1990 240,000+ miles it still runs strong. never had any problems really *knock on wood 3 times* except that small thing.

TJW98LS - i made sure that the air pressure was correct. 36psi on all 4 tires. it only does it when i go over bumps or uneven/loose gravel. i will take it to the tire shop where i got them from and have them look at it. i sure hope it is a small fix.

thanks fellas for your help.

about every 50-60 thousand miles is a good time. if you don't, you could get abnormal inner tire wear, like cupping.
