Lexus Debuting Brand New Coupe in Australia
Lexus has a new coupe coming. Whether it’s a replacement for the aging SC430 or a revised version of the sumptuous LF-LC, we don’t know. We do know one thing though: it’s going to be a hybrid.
The fact that they’re outing their new concept as a hybrid sports coupe is exciting. Likely, it’ll be another permutation on the LF-LC concept. That car served as the prime example of Lexus’ design language for their newer models. The now ubiquitous spindle grill was featured prominently on the concept before it made it’s way on to the face to the Lexus production lineup.
Still, it is a little soon for Lexus to be touting a whole new design language, which leads us to believe this concept will be a little bit more realistic than the LF-LC or the LF-Gh. Rumors of a new car from Lexus have been swirling around the internet for months now, so it wouldn’t be super surprising for this to be it. The rumor is that the car will be packing 500 hp AWD. That actually falls in line with super cars that other manufacturers are working on now anyway. Porsche’s 918 is a hybrid powerhouse as is Jaguar’s C-X75. If the rumors are true, Lexus is in good company.
In any case, Lexus has just given us a reason to pay attention to the Australian International Motor Show in October. It’s always more exciting when there’s something that you’re waiting for.
LEXUS CONCEPT TO ELECTRIFY 2012 MOTOR SHOW WITH WORLD FIRST DEBUT
Lexus will push the boundaries of performance, style and technology at the 2012 Australian International Motor Show when it takes the covers off a hybrid coupe concept vehicle.
Renowned and respected around the world for its advanced engineering and ideas, Lexus will provide a glimpse into its design future with this luxury sports coupe displaying a striking balance of new and traditional designs.
“The designers and engineers at Lexus continue to think outside the box with their cutting-edge concept vehicles,” said Russ Tyrie, Event Director.
“The LF-Gh concept on display at Melbourne last year was a prime example of this, yet Lexus will raise the already-high bar yet again, with their global reveal in Sydney.
“We are thrilled Lexus have chosen the Australian International Motor Show as the stage to unveil this concept and we know all visitors to the Show will be excited by its head-turning exterior style lines, driver-focused, advanced interior and superior performance.”
The 2012 Australian International Motor Show will be held at the Sydney Convention & Exhibition Centre, Darling Harbour from October 19-28, 2012.
