2014 Lexus IS Spotted in Camouflage
With the LS, ES, and GS all sporting Lexus’ iconic new spindle grill, the IS is the only one that hasn’t undergone a remodeling with Lexus’ new face. That’ll all change come 2014 when the next IS is finally released.
Admittedly, Lexus has done a really good job of keeping the car covered up. Though, if you look at the front end, the spindle grill is definitely there. There’s no reason to expect anything different, but hey, seeing is believing.
Honestly. I’m more interested in what the rest of the car looks like. Lexus has been banking on the new front end as being the defining mark of their cars, but the exterior styling has also been getting slightly more edgy. The side-skirts on the GS are evidence of this as is the rear end of the LS. That goes double for the F-Sport models. The spy shots might not let us get an idea of how it looks, but it does let us know what they’re hiding.
There’s extra padding on the rear window, for instance. Also, the rear decklid is a little awkward looking. Still, this looks more like an evolutionary step up than anything. Not that that’s a bad thing at all: the IS is a handsome sedan. I’m just curious to see where Lexus is taking it.
