Daily Slideshow: Top of the Line LS600H is VIP All the Way

This insane Lexus might be the first VIP hybrid we've ever seen. And it's certainly one of the nicer VIP builds anywhere, regardless of powertrain!

1. Hybrid VIP?

Hybrid power, while popular among the masses, has faced a tougher road with enthusiasts. Despite its obvious performance benefits, most of us are still leery of any form of electric power. So the fact that someone would take something like the hybrid Lexus LS600h and give it the full VIP treatment might seem, well, a little weird. But the finished product, constructed by Shunsuke Araki of CanDo Japan, more than speaks for itself in this Fast Car feature.

2. Standing Out

The very essence of VIP involves taking a luxury rig and turning into something overly aggressive and even more luxurious. After all, we're talking about a style made famous by actual Japanese gangsters - the Yakuza. And yet, this LS is one of the more aggressively styled VIP cars we've seen in some time. It's all about standing out from the crowd, after all, and we'd say that Araki hit the nail on the head with his unique hybrid build.

3. Just the Right Stance

As with any VIP build, the stance is every bit as important as the bodywork. In this case, a You Zealand Body air suspension allows the LS to sit pretty much on the ground when desired, yet also raise up enough to handle normal city driving without losing precious body pieces. Filling out the fat fenders are a set of 21-inch Work Gnosis FCV03 wheels, 10.5-inches wide in the front and 12.5 in the rear, with negative offsets of 27 and 29, respectively.

4. From Mild to Wild

The real star of this VIP Lexus, however, is Araki's unique body kit. Everything, including the front and rear bumper, skirts, front lip spoiler, and carbon side strips were made in-house. Araki wanted to go as wide as possible, so he actually cut a good bit out of all four fenders to make room for his massive, custom widebody pieces. Making this already wide car even wider totally transforms it from mundane cruiser to angry street brawler.

5. Groundbreaker

With all of the careful thought and hours of work that went into the outside, you would expect an equally impressive amount of custom detailing on the inside of this Lexus LS. And you won't be disappointed. Soft custom leather covers virtually every surface, and a host of carbon fiber trim adorns the cabin. It's a nice exclamation point on what is truly a groundbreaking car in the VIP world. Maybe the words hybrid and aggressive can go together, after all!
