Prime Opportunity

Oftentimes, tragedy leads to triumph. And that was certainly the case with Club Lexus member Will_GS400 (Will Kwan) and his wrecked silver GS. Losing that beloved ride opened up the opportunity for him to build the car of his dreams - an Onyx Black GS modeled after the one in the original Fast & Furious.

Dream Build

For a mere $1,500, Will was able to score this bone stock GS that was in excellent shape, albeit with a few areas of need. And as he explains, that opened the door for his dream build.

Gangster Ride

I've always wanted a black GS since the first Fast & Furious when Johnny Tran's boys pulled up inside the garage. It was gangster back then and I think it still is now."

Build Begins

Will kicked things off by swapping the Supra LSD, Precision Industries high stall TC, SRT Intake and Race ECU, PPE headers and LS400 BBK from his silver GS to the black GS. And then he ordered some additional parts from Japan. Overnighted, of course.

On Air

The first mod, however, was an Air Lift 3P system with dual Viair chrome compressors and a polished 5-gallon tank. He also purchased a set of Work CR Kiwami 19 x 9.5F/11R wheels that were in need of major repair. But he scored them on the cheap.

Making Progress

Eventually, all of his existing parts were installed and the car was driving great. He then demonstrated his handiness by fixing up a set of acrylic taillights and working on some new, much wider fenders.

Fill the Gap

The gap looked pretty good from the get-go, but Will also had some adjustable control arms up his sleeve to dial it in just right. Soon, the car was in the hands of a body shop to finish the work and also eliminate some rust.

Good Kind of Cut

Of course, good bodywork takes time, and that was also the case here. Soon, the shop had all the cancer cut out and fixed up. They also cut the rear fenders to make room for the bigger rolling stock.

Signed, Sealed, Delivered

Before long, everything was welded and sealed up. The fenders were on and attached to the body. The shop also installed the new front lip, and everything was looking really, really good.

Exciting Conclusion
