Blinding Wrap

Lexus LFA prices remain quite high these days, which is no surprise given the car's small production numbers and intoxicating, high-revving 4.8-liter V10 powerplant. Then, there are a number of rare color combinations that can easily add even more value to a select group of cars. But this is definitely the first chrome LFA we've ever seen, and it's currently up for sale at German auto site mobile.de for a whopping one million-plus U.S. dollars.

Positive Attributes

The exact price tag for this shiny LFA is 1,049,600 euros, or around $1,136,000, with taxes added in. That's obviously a lot of coin to pay for a car that isn't even a Nurburgring Edition. But in all fairness, it does have just 541 miles on the clock. But we just can't get past that chrome exterior, a treatment you don't see very often for obvious reasons.

One of One

We can't imagine driving a car like this on a sunny day, either for us or anyone in the vicinity of its shiny flanks. Either the driver or passing cars are going to be blinded, which doesn't make for a very pleasant (or safe) driving experience. Regardless, you'll most certainly be the only person on the planet with a chrome LFA, so there's that.

Used Sparingly

Other than the wrap, this LFA is pretty much normal and in amazing condition. The red and black interior looks brand new, with zero wear that we could spot. But given this car's mileage, that really isn't a surprise. Perhaps the previous owner didn't drive it much because of the wrap, or maybe they were just holding onto it as an investment, as so many LFA owners have done.

Falling In Love

Problem is, there are quite a few equally nice, low-mile (and even new) LFAs for sale around the world for less money. And if you really wanted to wrap one in chrome, well, you certainly could. But as they say, it only takes one person to fall in love with a car for the price to go up. And we can imagine there's at least one person out there in the world that might find themselves smitten with this LFA.

Worth Saving

Personally, we'd pass at this price. If the ask was at least reasonable, it'd be worth jumping on this LFA and pulling that wrap off, then giving the car proper paint correction. But for now, we'll just have to wait and see if anyone decides that a chrome LFA is something they can't live without.
