Special Cars

When special automobiles go up for auction, those of us that know a little something about cars take notice. The LFA has been a special car since the day the whispers of its creation left Japan and it continues to be one of the best vehicles ever made.

Perfection

We can still remember the Lexus commercial with the LFA breaking the wine glass with its exhaust. It got many of us thinking “What the hell, that’s a Lexus?!” What a perfect commercial for that car. The Lexus LFA is special. A car that has touched many of us car geeks for a long time.

What We All Know

The LFA is one of those cars that everyone just knows the random facts about. It started life as an aluminum chassis and ended with carbon fiber. The carbon was a custom-made loom. And the trackpad infotainment system was perhaps one of the worst ever made.

The Random Facts

What's even more interesting are the facts that you don’t know. The seat belts have airbags. Lexus hand-picked all 500 owners. The front-engined design was specifically chosen to make the car's limits more approachable. Only 20 cars a month were produced. And every interior panel was customizable to any color when purchased. There are far too many interesting facts about the car, the list is nearly neverending.

Warm and Fuzzy

It does have its quirks and odditities, but it is absolutely undeniable that it is a special car. And when that Yamaha-tuned V10 with the triple pipes sings to 9,000 RPM, it makes your heart feel warm and fuzzy. Not many cars still can do that as they drive away.

It’s On the List

The Lexus LFA is one of the cars that haunts many of our 'must-drive' lists. It is pure bliss. And whoever the lucky person was who picked this one up for $352,000 should be happy to have parted with the cash in exchange for the heart-stopping presence of this LFA in their garage.
