2022 Lexus RC F Gets a Few Updates & New Special Edition
Minor tweaks and a very cool limited edition model round out the 2022 RC F updates.
Model Year Updates
The Lexus RC F launched back in 2014 for the 2015 model year, bringing a host of performance upgrades and naturally-aspirated V8 power to Lexus' sporty coupe. Since then, it has been treated to a host of updates, a theme that will continue for the 2022 model year, which brings a few tweaks and one new, very limited special edition.

Well Rounded
As was previously the case, the 2022 RC F is powered by Lexus' naturally aspirated 5.0-liter V8, which produces 472 horsepower and 395 pound-feet of torque, giving the coupe the best power-to-weight ratio offered in its class. Of course, the model's "F" moniker means that it comes packing a host of other performance upgrades that result in a truly well-rounded package.

Weight Savings
That includes weight-saving measures such as hollow half shafts and a lighter-weight compact air conditioning compressor. To maximize grip and minimize drag, key aerodynamic parts have been integrated into each corner of the car's body. Underneath, you'll find a standard F-tuned Adaptive Variable Suspension, redesigned 19-inch wheels, and Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S tires measuring 255/35ZR19 up front and 275/35ZR19 in the rear.

Carbon Package
The RC F has some serious braking performance as well, courtesy of six-piston front, four-piston rear Brembo brakes. Upgrading to the optional Carbon Package also nets buyers a carbon-fiber roof, rear bumper, lip, and air dam front spoiler, fin rocker, door lower molding, and retractable wing rear spoiler, along with carbon interior trim and matte-black 19-inch wheels.

Temple of Speed
Also new for 2022 is the return of the RC F Fuji Speedway Edition, which is limited to just 50 total units. This model pays homage to the world-renowned "Temple of Speed" in the foothills of Mount Fuji - the birthplace of Lexus' high performance and inspiration for the F in RC F.

More Than Apperances
Featuring Brembo Carbon Ceramic brakes, a titanium exhaust, and the extensive use of carbon fiber to improve aerodynamics and reduce weight, the RC F Fuji Speedway Edition is far more than an appearance package. It's also a bit quicker than the base RC F, going from 0-60 mph in just 3.96 seconds compared to 4.2 clicks, and it only comes in one color - Electric Surge - a semi-matte hue that is exclusive to the limited edition model.

Coming Soon
In addition to Android Auto and Amazon Alexa compatibility, all RC F models offer a large 10.3-inch, high-resolution split-screen multimedia display with a full-screen map view. For added convenience, drivers can start their engine remotely with a smartwatch. And, to help them unlock a deeper appreciation of sound, the available 17-speaker, 835-watt Mark Levinson Premium Surround Sound Audio System enables music listening in its purest, highest fidelity. 2022 RC F models will arrive in dealerships later this month.
