9. Reliability

Recently, I had the chance to experience the RC F first hand and find out why owners of the performance coupe rave about it so much. As with most Toyota products, the RC F carries a reputation of high durability and reliability, and deservingly so. Long-time fans of Lexus can attest to this. But what makes this sports car stand out from the crowd?

8. Rarity

The fact that the majority of casual sports car buyers tend to stick with the more well-known BMW and Mercedes-Benz options means that the Lexus coupe grabs a smaller share of the market, which in turn, makes them the rarest of the bunch. And for those who buy them, it adds even more to the cool factor. More often than not, this is why people are drawn to the RC F as opposed to the competition.

7. Outside the Box Design Language

When it comes to styling, no other brand has quite the head-turning design DNA of Lexus. The RC carries that same language and with the F version, there is plenty of sporty-ness to set the look of the car apart from everything else on the road.

6. Muscular Stance

The wide stance and the aggressive design features of the RC F give it a serious performance car aesthetic. And while Lexus designers were certainly mindful of creating a classic sports coupe proportion, they did not sacrifice the signature Lexus identity in the process.

5. Perfect Ride

It wouldn't be a Lexus if it didn't give the driver and passengers a supreme ride. In Comfort mode, the suspension is adjusted for laid back cruises, but once you switch into Slolam Mode or Track Mode, the torque vectoring differential (TVD) turns the big coupe into a nimble autocross-ready machine.

4. Quality and Attention to Detail

This is perhaps the area that impressed me the most about the RC F. The build quality is absolutely amazing. You can see it in the attention to detail in every single inch of the interior, as well as the exterior. And as an automotive interior designer, I was thoroughly thrilled about how the touch points have been engineered to perfection. Everything you touch feels premium.

3. Amazing Interior

From the super cool design of the seats, the incorporation of carbon fiber trim, and the clean and simple instrument panel design, the Lexus interior designers have truly created a masterpiece. The only thing some owners complain about the user interface touch control system, many finding it a bit difficult to get used to.

2. Beautiful Sound

Owners of the RC F won't hesitate to tell you about how much they love the sound of their powerful sports coupe. While it is not loud, the engine certainly delivers the harmony of the naturally aspirated V8, especially in high RPM. While on the subject of sound, let's not forget about the Mark Levinson sound system, either.

1. Naturally Aspirated V8

Lastly, and most importantly, every RC F owner is in love with the car's naturally aspirated 5.0-Liter V8 motor. In a world where most car manufacturers have moved on to turbocharged high-performance engines, Lexus has found yet another area to take the proverbial high road, choosing to go NA instead. And the high-revving 470-HP power plant is so much happier in high RPM in my experience. For more insights on the RC F, watch The Sunday Club's review of the car on YouTube.
