This was one of the last LS400's and was manufactured in June 2000. There were 204 LS400s made after this one.
Engine/Drivetrain Modifications:
I can't do any better than Lexus engineers.
Suspension Modifications:
I still can't do any better than Lexus engineers.
Wheels/Tires Modifications:
The wheels on the 2000 LS400 Platinum Series were the same as the standard wheels on the 01-02 LS430. The chrome wheels on my LS400 was a dealer option.
Interior/Exterior Modifications:
Nokia CARK-91H phone kit connected to automatically mute the radio during a phone call and to use the OEM phone antenna imprinted on the rear window. The Nokia 6340i phone in the cradle is aging but it works great and an endless supply of replacement handsets are available on eBay.
"Semi-permanently" installed Magellan Roadmate 2200T GPS Navigation, using a Pro.Fit bracket and wired to turn on/off automatically when the ignition key is on.
Future Modifications:
Replace the aging Magellan with a newer Garmin Nuvi.
Replace the ancient Nokia phone kit with a Bluetooth kit - would be easy to do since I could reuse the Nokia kit's power, ground and mute wires without running new ones.
