Ken,

They said it would be four weeks. I was told I could get a "hot" order that would make it two weeks, but it would cost about $700+ more. I'll wait. Should look good. I probably won't lower it because of all the dips in the town I live in. I've lightly scraped a couple of times as it is. Thanks for the congrats. I'm excited.

I know they may not look as good, but I think that will provide a little more protection for the wheels.
Good choice. (I have 8.5/10 19" HRE 540R's on my GS400.) I love 'em. Wish I had 285's on the back like you're doing although I'm concerned about rubbing. At very low speeds I occasionally get a rub if I go over a speed bump or sometimes in reverse (not sure why). I have a 'fat 19' setup, 245/40-19 and 275/35-19. You may have seen my car on CL, but if not, here it is:

repairable? check on what it really cost. my friend paid HRE 500 for a repair

bitkahuna,

Nice looking car!!! Have you lowered yours at all?? I don't think I'll have any troubles with rubbing with the 285s. I wanted a little more tread to help protect the wheels a little bit and maybe help slightly with the ride. Like the car and the wheels!!!

jbbnet,

Wow, that is a lot. However, I would gladly pay that as opposed to paying $4,000+ for new wheels because my $2,000+ L-sportlines were bent. All four of them!! There is no way to repair those, so at least the 3 piece forged are stronger to begin with and have separate pieces to repair whatever is damaged. Hell, with Colorado roads, I'll probably find a way to f---- these new ones up too!!!

Thanks Doc C! My car is lowered just an inch with L-Tuned springs/shocks. It works with just that minimal lowering though (I think) because I have a fat 19 setup. I'm very happy with how it looks and rides at this point. I have all the other suspension mods too - TRD sways, front/read strut bars and brace. If I wanted anything more capable handling wise I'd get a Porsche. Brakes are the next mod to fit in those lovely 19's. The factory 12's look wimpy.

GS4Fun,

I am getting them clearcoated which I was told makes them easier to clean!?!? Probably not as easy as chromed, but less expensive.
