Default Re050 Rft

Anyone here have any experience with BMW Z4? I was wonder hows that car's OEM RE050 Run Flat tires perform when compare to the RFT on our car. Is RE050 suppose to be a better updated tires from RE040 or not?
thanks for any help.

When the time of my SC430 needs new tires arrive I will consider the RE050 RFT or Michelin Pilot HX MXM4 ZP which is Cadillac XLR OEM tire (if both of them have the right size for SC430 by that time) or switch to regular tires if all the new RFTs still perform poorly but then I really hate to have to put a spare tire in the trunk and the need of change tires on the side of the road.

Thumbs down Forget Run Craps

Trust me on this. My experince with my C5 corvette was a
a new 384.00 tire and a bent 350.00 wheel because of a flat.
My SC430 has Goodyear Eagle F1 GS D3 tires. Look these up.
They are the ones made in Germany and very popular in Europe.
Great wet and dry traction with a good ride and no noise. Just under
200.00 each at www.tirerack.com.
If I have a flat I'll just call Lexus Road Side Service and let them fix it.
Did mean to run on & on like this but I'm sold on this tire.
Anybody else?

Hat Guy ...

I have a few hundred miles on my Goodyears and I think they're great. When I saw that tread design, I just knew it would be great on wet roads and it does rain a lot here.

I can't understand Tirerack - when I purchased the tires they were $155 each and within a few days they were $200. Not that I'm complaining, mind you, just confused.

Arvin, I can't answer the question re: the Z4, but I can tell you that I'm very satisfied with my Michelin Pilot Sports. I was also on the fence about whether or not to get the spare tire since I replaced the runflats, especially since Fix-a-Flat damages the pressure sensors.

No longer a worry since I changed the rims and the tire shop disconnected the sensors. (The tire sensors are really only needed with runflats since you can't tell if they're leaking air.) If I have a flat, I'll try the Fix-a-Flat. If that doesn't work, like Joe, I'll call Lexus Roadside Assistance. Unless you're traveling rural roads everyday I wouldn't be too concerned.

Doesn't the M3 come with non-runflats, and an air pump and something like Fix-a-Flat in the trunk?
