Default Tire Problem?

Two weeks ago, I replaced my runflats with Goodyear Eagle F1 tires. Except for a frightening and blinding rainstorm, the 150-mile trip home from the Lexus dealer was uneventful and the tires performed admirably.

If I let the car sit for a couple of days, it behaves as if the tires were severely out of balance during the first four or five miles of driving. After the tires warm up, everything seems fine. A Tirerack rep explained that this is normal for many high-performance tires. My runflats were also high-performance tires but they didn't behave similarly.

I can't imagine what it will be like after the car sits all winter! Does anyone else have this non-problem?

The people at Tire Rack usually know their stuff, but this sounds a bit fishy to me. I replaced my runflats with Michelin Pilot Sports and my SC stays in the garage a few days between drives, but I've never experienced anything similar to what you're describing.

Any set of tires can develop 'flat spots' after sitting. Some tires develop them more easily than others.

That is definitely normal. Runflats don't have the problem as bad because they're basically ROCK HARD and so they don't develop flat spots when sitting.

Bridgestone Potenzas, Nitto 555's, Toyo T1-S's, and Dunlop SP9000's I have now ALL have had flat spots for the first couple of miles.
