No harm, no foul. One of the many reasons I joined CL is the eagerness of people wanting to help...but every time i check back to these messages, my heart breaks a little at the pictures..=)

Tire pressure sensors?
If I were to get these for my SC430, would I get a warning indicator for tire pressure since the stock wheels have pressure sensors on them and these don't?
how would I get around the tire pressure sensor light?
What are you folks doing when you get aftermarket wheels to get around this issue?

Will,
I currently have the stock runflat tires. When I go aftermarket wheels/tires, I will probably not get runflats, but would like to not have a tire pressure warning indicator on all the time. On my C5 vette, I had to buy another set of tire pressure sensors and basically "rig" it on the aftermarket wheels w/ a large band supplied by Tire Rack. I was just wondering if someone here has got a kit figured out and available to avoid this "rigging".
TIA!

you know whats wierd? my friend with a G35 Coupe has the tire pressure monitoring sensors, on his stock wheels and tires, but he upgraded to 19"s without the sensors, and for some odd reason, the sensors still warned of low air pressure when he was low on air... even though the car did not have the sensors installed on the new wheels/tires

pressure monitor
I have an air pressure monitor too...it's called knowing your car. Most people really into cars should be able to tell when the pressure is low by how the cars steers and rides. If you're not good at it just check the air once a month in cooler months, every other month when it's hot.
I said this to say don't let gadgets keep you from getting custom wheels.

Reg,
I think you missed my point(?) It's not that I am dependant on the monitor to tell me if my tire pressure is low, I don't want the warning light on after I get my aftermarket wheels. I guess I'll just buy an extra set of tire pressure monitors and install them on the aftermarket wheels. Anyone know where I can get used ones in good working condition? Anyone know how much they cost to replace?
And BTW, I think of myself as included in that "enthusiast" category. Certainly enough to tell when my tire pressure is low. I have a long history of modding stuff from cars to motorcycles and believe it or not have actually done much of it myself until recently when I found time was beginning to be more of a rare commodity.
