First off, Big Congrats to Johnny and Mark on the coverage!

Second I think the VIP sect is certainly flowing into the mainstream more and more. It used to really shock me when people at DUB or HIN shows would walk up to Stefan's LS, point and say "VIP right?" lol. Of course I'd just say yeah, (the while EXE, etc etc would take WAYYY too long)

I think the Falken ad's are a huge contributer to the growing popularity of VIP here in the states.

Good to see some mainstream coverage!!
Nice job on y'alls cars!

But, it's only a matter of time before we see someone try and VIP a Charger or a Cadi or a Ford LTD, and then top it off with some gawdy 22's/24's.

from my perspective; i think that the VIP trend will more than likely hit mainstream but it will still hold its heritage such as the jdm tuner style with the sport compacts. there will always be that mass group of individuals who seem to mess up the whole trend but as true VIP enthusiast like myself; it will be up to us uphold the true traditions of VIP. it has always been form and functionallity with our caliber of vehicles and as long as we as the tuners keep that in mind; i think that the VIP trend will stay true.

Just as most trends, VIP will eventually get played out...it's inevitable. Knock-offs, misinterpretations, mass marketing........ not much we can do but to stay true with the tradition and try to educate. VIP will have to adapt here in the US since more than half of the VIP platforms never made it across the ocean.

so that means - big tasteful rims, stretched tire walls, lowered to the point that you risk killing your bumper if you come up to a speed bump, and of course all the interior mods that make it posh - curtains, the fusa, general amenities you'd normally find in a hotel room - perhaps a cooled bottle chiller with ice? haha I dunno- anything that screams style.

I do appreciate the fact that vip is on the radar enough that Import Tuner is doing an article but I think it's their responsibility to present it in a manner that holds true to what the vip diehards believe it to be...

about the gangster comment - yeah, i know it's just a way for the mag to spin the style it just sounds too negative for the extreme style and quality associated with bippu.

but hey- one of our own got into the magazine!

i'm going to go pick up the mag... and check it out in depth.
sounds to me like you would be more drawn toward EXE style of VIP like I am. Finding the right balance of aggressive/conservative is what I like the most. In other words, the person with an untrained eye may have to look two or three times to notice the killer mods done to the car.

That said, congrats to Johnny and the fellas for the magazine exposure!!!! Well deserved!!!!
