Hey guys, I recently replaced my 2019 Lexus UX screen to new one. I had gotten 2019 Lexus UX via Carmax last year. Everything looked fine until having problem with the screen, it took so much time to open, black out many times. It seemed to be replaced from factory screen by pre-owner. I didn’t notice well, so I claimed to Carmax and got some compensation for that.
After researching on Android screen, Carplay unit, I decided to order one that I like. I needed wide screen with high definition to watch YouTube, Netflix and no more trouble shooting with booting.
Once I ordered the screen unit, I was able to get it after 3 weeks. I was trying to install it from scratch, but on my second thought, I hired professional installer and paid 100$ per hour. It actually took about an hour. It looked easier than I thought you guys can do it yourself as instructed on YouTube video.
The result? So far so good. Now I enjoy listening to YouTube music while I’m driving. (I don’t have a premium membership; it supports background playing). As far as Carplaying I can connect with my phone to the screen unit wirelessly. When I sit in the car it automatically connected. The screen can be splitted into 2 so I can see the navigation with video at the same time.
And it’s super-fast to boot and never blacked so far. really convenient to me when I’m using touchpad it moves smoothly.
Also, I’d like to mention that if you want to use factory menu, you can switch to it anytime.
That’ all what I’m thinking about my new screen unit, though I’m not a professional on this kind of things.
If I have a problem again, I’m going to share it with you guys.
