UX non conservative modifications? 80hp Rear Engine?
Am I the only one with thoughts of nonconservative upgrades? I have a plan for an 80hp rear engine upgrade since the UX didn't get one like the Rav4 Prime. Possibly, the next few days will have this M20A opened up to see if any room on the walls for a bore. have learned a lot about this new hybrid motor and I am impressed, glad there I no EGR as well! only time will tell how well this motor was designed versus previous hybrid motors.
LEXUS UX 250H ENGINE M20A-FXS
also... wish it was a plug-in, not going down the route of converting but if someone has more battery capacity and lighter weight... with an 80hp rear motor... hmm hm hmmm
please tell me I am not the only nonconservative custom one here...
There are bootleg versions of manufacturer coding tools available for some brands. They let you do things like upgrade from base headlights to the version that follows steering, or make the car recognize and use an electric motor. For BMW it’s ISTA, for Porsche it’s PIWIS.
But Lexus is one of the brands that has kept this under lock and key. Dealers can’t even swap equipment like base to triple beam headlights or metric to imperial climate controls. You just can’t find this kind of software for Lexus.
And regarding the gas engine, ECU tuning for Lexus is limited. Even the LC500, an actual sports car, hasn’t been cracked by ECU tuners 5 years later. If you want to mod the M20a you need standalone engine management, and that means the rest of the electronics are going to throw a fit.
