Does anyone have a good solution for a cell phone holder? We're used to the little magnetic cell phone mounts that clip onto the air vents in our other cars but the design of the UX's vent with it's double cross-bar vent makes it not work well with those magnetic mounts. The UX 250h is my wife's car and she actually needs two cell phone mounts for personal and work phones. Currently using the style shown below but these also don't work well with the vent style. What's everyone using?

 

Apple CarPlay?

 

Yes, I would recommend Apple CarPlay (or Android Auto). You can send and receive text messages hands-free, listen to music & change tracks hands-free, set navigation destinations hands-free, and even ask (basic) questions of Siri that she can answer. There's no need to pickup the phone while driving (nor should she).

 

She has one of each phone (ios & android) so I'll see if she's open to doing the CarPlay or Android Auto route for one of them. That doesn't alleviate the need for a cell phone mount for the second phone so if anyone has a magnetic vent mount that works in the UX, would still love to know about it.

This looks to be custom made for the UX. I'm not sure how the quality is though.

 

If anyone in the future cares, there are these magnetic mounts (search B085NLXNQJ on Amazon for one example) with hooks that you clamp and tighten on that just barely work on the UX vents but they do work.
