So those of you that own the UX should very minimally be somewhat familiar with the design of our hatch. That said, unfortunately where I live and park, I have the type of trees that sheds those billions of tiny leaves in the fall and as a result, get them all in my hatch within the cracks and end up piling within the slot of the tail light as shown in the below picture.
obviously I cannot park elsewhere are this time and just curious if anyone here has an actual remedy/solution? The tiny leaves end up piling up in the actual black trim of the outer tail light itself which looks to channel water out from the hatch. Worried that over time this could lead to problems.
I just blow them out with compress air whenever I wash my car. It seems to be a common occurrence with any hatch/suv.
I do that too, but it all sort of just semi-circles back in the hatch. In the meantime I just put some black electrical tape over the gaps in the tail light with about 1/4 inch of room for water to channel through. I'm sure it won't hold forever but for the autumn time with all of these leaves, I'm sure it'll do just fine as a temporary/seasonal 'fix'.
