New member, new UX 250h F Sport
Greetings all,
I purchased my UX 250h F Sport in Silver Lining Metallic last Saturday to be my daily commuter. After driving it all this week, I offer the following:
1. I was only able to manage to get 6% off MSRP, which I guess is OK given that it is a first model year car. So, it is possible to get something off MSRP for those who have been wondering.
2. I've kept it in "ECO" mode all week and have seen an average of 41.5 mpg on my current mostly-flat, 17 mile commute. I would guess my drive is 70% highway and 30% city - I have definitely gotten better than 38 mpg on the highway. Just watching the car provided data/graph, I've been getting in the mid 40s on the highway. I am going to be changing jobs in the next couple of weeks and will have a 35 mile commute, again mostly highway - it will be interesting to see how the mileage levels out.
3. I read reviews that criticized the "harshness" of the F Sport's tuned suspension. Dunno about "harsh" - I've driven German cars since getting my first Audi in 2000, and I find the ride of the F-Sport to be very comfortable. The seats are about the most comfortable seats of any hybrid car I've sat in/driven, including a couple full EV cars. Almost as comfortable as my other car.
4. The sound system is severely lacking - it is, by far, the worst sounding stock system I've had since a 1980 Dodge Aspen I had in high school. But, it will allow me to listen to NPR on my commute and maybe a song or two, and as I'm not an avid audiophile, I will get by.
5. I find the power to be adequate for anything I'll face on my commute - even in "ECO" mode. I have had no issues merging into 70 mph traffic or passing slower cars on two lane roads. I realize I won't be winning any pink slips at the local drag strip, but I will get to work and back home on time.
Overall, I like the car very much - the styling, the comfort and the mileage. Looking forward to learning more about it and reading about others' opinions and experiences.

Update
So, for the last couple of days, i've driven in Sport mode on my commute and have averaged 39.5 mph. Not bad! I expect that Sport should give me the lowest mileage, which so far seems to be about 3 mpg less than Eco mode. It will be interesting to see what mileage I see in Normal mode, and to see how all the modes are affected once the temperature rises a bit.

After going for a week, I realized that the car does not stay in Sport once you set it - it will revert to Normal mode once the ignition is turned off. So the above average of 39.5 mpg in Sport was/is inaccurate. In any event, my mileage over a week in Normal mode has been 38.9 mpg - slightly lower than in ECO. Next week I plan to stay in Sport to see how she fairs.....

Congrats on your UX! Nice to see the high mpgs. It should only get better with the warmer temps around the corner. With the proper "pulse and glide" technique, you should see even better mileage.

Post some pics! Seems to be about the same mileage as the CT200h which is impressive considering the taller vehicle profile and likely heavier weight (i assume its heavier, lazy to look it up)

I haven't taken any good pics yet, but here are a couple from this morning in the lot at work. I also included a couple shots showing the mileage I've gotten this week in Eco Mode. While excellent, I am a bit surprised that it is only a mile or two better than I saw after a week in Normal Mode...

I concur, however, since it has warmed up a bit outside, I am seeing around 42 mpg in Normal mode... was hoping (perhaps unrealistically) to see around 5 mpg more in Eco. Now, i commute about 350 miles per week, so these mpg tests I've been doing have only been over that range. I am interested to see what i get longer term.. first over the summer, then through a full year. I expect it will be close to these numbers al beit slightly lower, particularly for a full year including some cold weather.

F-Sport on the UX 250h
With the F-Sport, how is the engine and/or driving characteristics different than the base UX 250h?
I understand the visual items like grill and seats, but it's not clear to me how the performance of the car differs from the base hybrid model.

Besides the visuals (grill, wheels, fog lamps/cornering lights, f sport gauges, etc.) the F Sport has a tuned suspension and paddle shifters....oh, and the active sound control, which is a bit cheesy, in my opinion.
