Default UX250h performance in snowstorm

I have a 2022 UX250h in Toronto. We just had a massive dump of snow over 2 days. The roadsides are piled up with snow and the roads were a mess during the snowfall periods.

My UX made it through this snowstorm with ease. All tires are the stock runflats, nothing special.

Going uphill on Toronto's Dufferin street with iced and slush filled roads was a breeze.

Driving into and out of 6 inch high slush piles found in street parking lanes was a breeze.

The AWD on this car is nothing special, but the simple 8hp rear axle electric motor seems to be enough to effect a decent AWD implementation.

I'm really surprised this car never got stuck. Totally pleased with its winter performance. It must do even better with winter tires I figure.

This is about as bad as winter in Toronto gets and the UX made it through with ease

I had a 3rd gen RX and thought I was going to miss out on a lot of winter capability after getting this UX

I've driven it a few times in Montreal's wintered streets and on the highway between Toronto and Montreal during a winter storm, it did perfectly fine.

Just writing here in case others are considering a UX here in Ontario or Quebec and are looking for a data point on its winter performance.

My wife has a 2019 UHX but actual snow tires (non run flat) and takes traction to another level in snow and ice. I am sold on snow tires in winter, they just take road safety to another level. I also liv3 in Ontario.

I live in Chicago with some pretty bad winters.

Snow tires/tires in general make all the difference. AWD only gets you so far if you have cheap tires.

This is an awesome testimonial! Weekend of the 15th I lost my GX to an accident on the 401 due to the snowstorm. After being declared a total loss, I wanted to try a different route while I await the new 4runner. Ended up signing papers for a UX today and this thread puts me at ease.
